Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Pin Publisher is operated by SoftTech Corp Ltd, a company registered in Bangladesh ("we", "us", "our"). SoftTech Corp Ltd is the data controller for the personal information processed through Pin Publisher. This policy lays out, in plain terms, what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how we keep it safe while you use our Pinterest scheduling service.

2. Information We Collect

Here's what we hold on file:

  • Account details: The email address you sign up with and the credentials used to log you in.
  • Pinterest connections: With your explicit permission, we read your boards and basic profile via the Pinterest API so we can publish pins on your behalf.
  • Pin content: The images, titles, descriptions, and links you upload or import in order to schedule them.
  • Product usage: Server logs, device information, and aggregated analytics that tell us how Pin Publisher is being used.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data powers the following:

  • Running, maintaining, and steadily improving Pin Publisher.
  • Scheduling and publishing pins to your Pinterest profile when their slots are due.
  • Sending you service-related notifications, alerts, and product updates.
  • Spotting usage patterns that point us to the most useful improvements.
  • Catching abuse, fraud, and security issues before they cause harm.

3a. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or the EEA, we rely on the following legal bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR (Article 6) to process your personal data:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to create your account, connect Pinterest profiles, schedule and publish pins, and provide customer support — everything needed to deliver the Service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, monitor performance, understand aggregated usage, and communicate essential product updates. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where required — for example, non-essential cookies, optional marketing emails, or connecting your Pinterest account via OAuth. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): to comply with applicable laws, tax and accounting requirements, and lawful requests from authorities.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information — ever. The only times your data leaves Pin Publisher are:

  • To Pinterest: When their API needs the content in order to publish a pin you asked us to send.
  • To Paddle (Merchant of Record): Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases and handles payment processing, billing, sales tax/VAT compliance, invoicing, subscription management, refunds, and fraud prevention. Paddle processes billing-related personal data (name, billing address, email, payment method details, transaction history) as an independent controller under its own Privacy Notice.
  • To trusted vendors: Carefully chosen partners that keep Pin Publisher running (hosting, analytics, error reporting).
  • When legally required: If a lawful request makes disclosure unavoidable, or if it's necessary to protect our rights.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard protections — encryption in transit via TLS, secure authentication, and tightly scoped access controls. That said, no internet system is bulletproof, so we can't promise total security.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account stays active or as long as we need it to provide the service. You can wipe your account and its data from the Settings page whenever you want — small traces may linger briefly in backups before they roll off.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to do any of the following:

  • See, correct, or delete the personal information we hold on you.
  • Pull back consent for Pinterest API access whenever you like.
  • Export your data in a portable form.
  • Object to specific kinds of processing.

8. Cookies & Tracking

We rely on cookies and similar storage for keeping you signed in, basic analytics, and core product behavior. Cookie preferences can be tuned via your browser at any time.

9. Third-Party Services

Pin Publisher plugs into Pinterest. Whatever you do on Pinterest itself is governed by Pinterest's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service — their privacy practices aren't something we can answer for.

9a. Pinterest API & Pinterest-Derived Data

Pin Publisher is an independent product. We are not endorsed by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or otherwise officially connected to Pinterest, Inc. "Pinterest" is a trademark of Pinterest, Inc., used here only to describe interoperability.

When you connect a Pinterest account we access data via the official Pinterest API — your profile, boards, and pins you ask us to publish — strictly to operate the scheduling features you requested. Specifically:

  • No resale or redistribution. We do not sell, rent, license, or redistribute Pinterest content or any Pinterest-derived data (boards, pins, profile info, analytics, tokens) to any third party.
  • No use outside Pin Publisher. Pinterest-derived data is used only to deliver the Service to you. It is not used to train external AI models, build advertising profiles, or power features for other users.
  • Disconnect & deletion. When you disconnect your Pinterest account in Settings (or delete your Pin Publisher account), we immediately revoke our stored OAuth tokens and delete the associated Pinterest profile record, board cache, and any Pinterest-derived metadata from our production database. Already-published pins remain on Pinterest under your control. Residual copies in encrypted backups roll off within 30 days.
  • Token storage. Pinterest access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-GCM) and only decrypted server-side at publish time.
  • Compliance. Our use of the Pinterest API complies with the Pinterest API Terms of Service and Developer Guidelines.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may evolve over time. If meaningful changes land, we'll let you know by email or in-app notification. Continuing to use Pin Publisher after an update counts as accepting the revised version.
